We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Associate MFT, PCC or SW to join our team at a leading Functional Restoration Program in San Diego. The primary responsibility will be to facilitate in office group therapy sessions and telehealth 1:1cognitive behavioral therapy focused on pain management. This position offers flexible schedule ranging from 5 to10 hours per week with compensation between $28-$32 per hour. Functional Restoration San Diego is a patient-centered clinic dedicated to helping individuals suffering from chronic pain regain control of their lives. Our mission is to empower patients to rethink their future, rebuild their strength and spirit, and find renewed purpose by redefining what a fulfilling life means to them. Our multidisciplinary team includes our medical physician, physical therapists, mental health clinicians, nutritionist, and body movement and art therapist. We take a holistic, team-based approach to treatment, ensuring comprehensive care that addresses both the physical and emotional aspects of chronic pain.

About the department:

Our psychology department is a close knit, collaborative team of five dedicated clinicians who are passionate about supporting individuals in managing chronic pain. We foster an environment of teamwork, where each clinician is deeply invested in the care and development of every participant. We hold weekly team meetings to discuss participants’ progress, goals, and challenges, ensuring that every treatment plan is personalized and comprehensive. We work closely with both the physical therapy department and a physician, creating an integrated multidisciplinary approach that enhances patient care. Our diverse team brings a wealth of experience and perspective, and we prioritize open communication and mutual support to create an enriching and positive work environment.

Key responsibilities:

Facilitate group sessions for individuals in a functional restoration program, utilizing evidence-based pain management techniques

Provide 1:1 telehealth and in person therapy utilizing evidenced based pain management techniques

Provide psychoeducation on pain management, stress reduction, coping skills, and emotional regulation

Foster a supportive, empathetic, and collaborative group environment

Assess group participation needs and progress, tailoring content and interventions as appropriate

Perform basic administrative duties including managing client documentation and compliance with program standards.

Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

Work closely with multidisciplinary team members, including physical therapists and medical staff to ensure a holistic approach to patient care

Adhere to ethical standards and legal requirements for practice.

Minimum Qualifications:

Registered associate status with the California Board of Behavioral Science (BBS) as an MFT, LPC, or SW

Must have malpractice insurance

Strong communication skills and ability to facilitate group therapy in a compassionate, non-judgmental manner

Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary team

Adaptability to changing work load and schedule

Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office 365

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in pain management, or functional restoration program is a plus

Experience working with diverse populations and complex health conditions is a plus

Knowledge and experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Action Commitment Therapy, and or Solutions Focused Therapy.

Bilingual in Spanish

Compensation & Benefits:

Hourly rate: $28 - $32.00 per hour, based on experience

Supervision provided to count towards hours for licensure

Flexible schedule with opportunity for growth within the program
