Design Department Coordinator
Location: Harper Construction, Little Italy, Downtown San Diego
Harper Construction is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Design Department Coordinator to manage administrative and operational functions within our Design Department. This role supports project execution and ensures efficient workflows, with a focus on federal projects and compliance with NAVFAC and USACE standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Incorporate amendments into government-furnished RFPs and prepare design contracts
Organize and support department meetings, including project kickoffs and follow-ups
Assist in all project design phases from conceptual design to construction document development
Prepare, review, and edit contracts, correspondence, reports, and design submittals
Develop office standards and maintain digital project folder structures
Oversee project as-built/record drawings and manage design closeout processes
Coordinate with owners and field teams to ensure proper document review and issuance
Manage project tools, write meeting minutes, and follow up on action items
Provide administrative support, scheduling, and communication facilitation
Qualifications:
5+ years of office management experience, preferably in building design and construction
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Construction, Design, or a related field (preferred)
Strong familiarity with architectural and construction processes
Excellent communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and project management tools
Experience with federal contracting, particularly NAVFAC and USACE standards (preferred)
Compensation and Benefits:
Hourly Rate: $30–$33/hour (based on experience)
