Office Manager

Flexible position at a Jewish nonprofit organization with a relaxed work environment! Beth Jacob Congregation (College Area of San Diego) is seeking a half-time Office Manager to work Monday through Friday from 9am-1pm. Local candidates only.

Handle day-to-day administrative tasks, such as donation entry, receipts & thank you letters for donors, Yahrzeit acknowledgements, answering phone calls, kiddush inventory, email blast (2 x week minimum), serve Rabbi and Executive Director with direct supervision from both to meet secretarial work as needed, filing as required by role, weekly check mailing, graphic design knowledge to support and create flyers/posters for marketing events on literature tables and display boards, etc.

Programs knowledge needed, or a willingness to learn:

Adobe Suite/ Shul Cloud/ Microsoft Office/ Stamps.com/ Door King Security/ and others.

$18-20 hourly with pay commensurate with experience. Must be comfortable within the traditional Jewish community and values.

Responsibilities:

Interact and coordinate with members and prospective members in-person, by phone and/or by email

Coordinate and support clergy, professional staff and lay leadership

Manage weekly email communication

Maintain database of program registrations and accurate temple records

Maintain office inventory control and online calendar

Collaborate with Executive Director; assisting with accounting-related functions and some online social media presence

Qualifications & Skills:

Minimum of 3 years experience in busy office or non-profit setting

Excellent writing and interpersonal communication

Strong attention to details

Organized and self-starter

Good problem solving skills
