Pomerado Scripps Eye Care (PSEC) is seeking a highly motivated and organized office manager / medical assistant (OM/MA) to join our growing team!

PSEC is a retail optometry practice dedicated to providing exceptional eye care services to the Poway, CA community. We offer a friendly and professional work environment with opportunities for professional growth.

Responsibilities:

Patient Experience:

- Greet patients warmly and professionally.

- Schedule appointments, confirm them, and manage patient flow.

- Answer phones, direct calls, and take messages.

- Process patient payments and maintain accurate records.

- Assist patients with basic questions and concerns.

Practice Operations:

- Maintain a clean and organized reception area.

- Manage patient information in the practice management software.

- File medical records according to HIPAA regulations.

- Oversee day-to-day office operations.

- Manage inventory and handle optical shop sales.

- Process insurance pre-authorization and billing.

- Perform other clerical duties as assigned.

Additional Duties:

- Reach out to past patients to encourage appointments.

- Engage with the community to promote the practice.

- Pre-examine patients before they see the optometrist.

- Sterilize and maintain eyeglasses and contact lens trial sets.

- Assist patients with adjusting eyeglasses and contact lens care.

Compensation & Benefits:

- Competitive salary of $25 per hour -or- $21 per hour PLUS 5% of practice profit

- Health insurance stipend after 3 months

Qualifications:

- Minimum 1 year of experience as an office manager, medical assistant, or in a similar role

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills

- Proficient in computer software including Microsoft Office Suite and practice management systems

- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment

- Friendly, professional, and compassionate demeanor

- California Licensed Medical Assistant (preferred)
