As Fund Controller, you'll dive into all phases of asset management, gaining CFO-level insights and hands-on experience across a wide range of real estate types.This is a Hybrid role in San Francisco. Lead monthly accounting processes, including the preparation of operating reports, budget variance analysis, and coordinating with property management on accounting matters.
Support the development, review, and execution of annual operating budgets, business plans, and financial forecasts for the Fund and assigned properties.
Prepare detailed quarterly reports for investors and stakeholders, including comprehensive financial statements and analyses.
Oversee cash distribution processes and preferred return calculations for Fund and joint-venture investments.
Assess fund and property-level performance, assisting in financial projections and modeling.
Manage year-end audits and tax returns, coordinating with external auditors and tax preparers for accurate and timely reporting.
Calculate and manage cash distributions to investors, ensuring precise waterfall calculations.
Build and maintain productive relationships with third-party property management teams.
Facilitate property acquisitions and dispositions, coordinating with various stakeholders throughout the process.
Contribute to the enhancement of best practices within the accounting team and support system optimization initiatives.
Requirements
7+ years of accounting/finance experience in the real estate investment industry
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related
CPA designation is a plus
Strong knowledge of GAAP, including fair value accounting, and familiarity with tax laws.
Experience with Yardi Voyager is a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and collaborative approach.
Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
