Description We are inviting applications for a Staff Accountant position within our team in San Francisco, California. This role will primarily involve the restoration and correction of accounting records, with a focus on payroll journal entries and general ledger accounts. This position is a short term contract opportunity, and the successful candidate will be expected to work onsite.Responsibilities: Review and correct current year accounting records to ensure accuracy. Handle journal entries, which may extend beyond 100 lines. Reverse incorrect journal entries in the system and upload the correct entries. Allocate amounts to the appropriate general ledger accounts. Upload and print general ledger details for record-keeping purposes. Conduct repetitive tasks with attention to detail and precision. Utilize accounting software, preferably with prior experience in ProLaw or similar legal system software. Exhibit the ability to identify potential errors or discrepancies in accounting records. Maintain a high level of detail orientation and demonstrate a background in accounting. Be comfortable with repetitive work while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.Requirements The candidate must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting role. Comprehensive knowledge and demonstrated experience with Accounts Payable (AP) is required. Experience with Bank Reconciliations is essential. Proficiency in managing and maintaining the General Ledger is required. Must have experience in conducting Journal Entries and Month End Close. The candidate must be familiar with the ProLaw software. Experience in Credit Card Reconciliation is necessary. Must have experience in Journal Entry Preparation. The candidate must have a strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required. The candidate must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, is necessary. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential. Must be able to handle sensitive information confidentially. A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
