Description We are currently seeking an organized and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a temporary basis. During this 4-month term, with the potential to convert to a permanent position, you will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting functions related to financial reporting, budget analysis, accounts payable and receivable, and tax preparations.Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements and budget performance.
Ensure compliance with national and local financial legal requirements.
Audit and reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
Responsible for accounts payable and receivable.
Maintain financial security by adhering to internal controls, and protecting the organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
Update job knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and participating in professional organizations.
Assist with tax audits and tax returns.
Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
Forecasts and prepares business activity reports and financial position forecasts.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Proven work experience as a Staff Accountant or similar role.
Strong knowledge of basic accounting procedures, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Familiarity with financial accounting statements.
Thorough knowledge of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles.
Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., Quickbooks)
Accuracy and attention to detail; strong numerical skills.
Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
