This is a long-term contract / contract to permanent Accounts Receivable Clerk position and is based in the San Leandro, California area.Responsibilities
Locate delinquent customer accounts through various means, e.g. skip-tracing, phone contact, written correspondence, and make arrangements for payment
Communicate, reinforce, and support the values, culture, and mission of the organization
Complete a wide range of basic accounting tasks in accordance with standard procedures, including general accounting tasks
Communicate information, as requested to shippers, customers, the sales/marketing department and other stakeholders
Contact clients to help resolve payment issues; assist in setting up payment plans
Verify codes and documents
Balance bank accounts, posting and balancing financial data in a number of different ledgers
Process payments and compile segments of annual reports and monthly closings in compliance with GAAP Requirements - ERP system experience
2+ years of relevant experience in accounts receivable
AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills
Proven analytical skills in basic accounts receivable and accounting policy
Auditing experience
High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
