We're hiring an Assistant General Manager (AGM) to join our leadership team at Flor de Maíz, a high-volume, upscale Mexican restaurant located on Santa Barbara’s beautiful waterfront. This is a great opportunity for a passionate and experienced hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Support daily operations for both front and back of house
- Ensure outstanding guest experiences, food quality, and ambiance
- Support the GM in leading and developing the FOH team; assist in hiring and training
- Monitor financial performance (labor, food/bev costs, inventory)
- Work closely with the GM to uphold brand standards
- Help manage bar program along side the bar lead and ensure ABC compliance
- Lead by example on the floor and in service with empathy
What We’re Looking For:
- 2+ years experience in restaurant management (AGM or Floor Manager level)
- Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills
- Ability to multi-task, problem solve, and stay calm under pressure especially in a high paced restaurant environment
- A hands-on manager who leads from the floor with empathy
- Knowledge of Mexican or Latin cuisine a plus
- Must be available nights, weekends, and holidays
- ServSafe & Responsible Beverage (or willingness to certify)
- Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus
- Knowledge of Toast and OpenTable a plus
