Experienced Sous Chef Wanted:

Upscale Coastal Restaurant in the heart of the Montecito is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our talented culinary team. This is an exciting opportunity to work right alongside our innovative Executive Chef.

Responsibilities:

- Assist the Executive Chef in all kitchen operations, including menu planning, recipe development, food preparation, and quality control

- Lead the kitchen staff in the Executive Chef's absence, ensuring smooth and efficient service

- Train, schedule, and oversee the performance of line cooks and other kitchen personnel

- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment that adheres to all health and safety standards

- Collaborate with the front-of-house team to deliver an exceptional dining experience for our guests

Requirements:

- 3+ years of experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar leadership role in a high-volume, upscale restaurant environment

- Formal culinary training and/or certification, such as a degree from a reputable culinary institute a plus

- Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen equipment, and inventory management

- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

- Passion for seasonal, locally-sourced ingredients and creating visually stunning, delicious dishes
