Become a Lifesaver: Foster a Dog with Ace of Hearts Dog Rescue!
Every year, 3.3 million dogs enter shelters, and 670,000 are euthanized. At Ace of Hearts Dog Rescue, we are dedicated to saving as many of these dogs as possible, focusing on those most at-risk. We are a 100% foster-based organization and rely on compassionate individuals to provide temporary homes for our dogs while we find their forever families. If you have a love for dogs and space in your home, we need you!
About Us:
Ace of Hearts Dog Rescue is a Los Angeles-based non-profit committed to rescuing dogs from shelters and giving them a fresh start. Our mission is to find loving homes for each of our rescues, but we can't do it without your help.
We are urgently seeking foster homes for:
Axel – A large shepherd/lab mix who is very active and house-trained. Axel is wary of new people and prefers not to make eye contact. He reacts defensively if approached too soon but thrives in a calm, patient environment. Axel loves outdoor activities like beach trips and hikes and he does GREAT with other dogs. He needs a strong, experienced foster who is comfortable with working breeds and can help him build trust. Once he trusts you, he is a very loving and affectionate dog. We also offer training support from professional trainers to assist with his adjustment.
Jack Jack and Blankets – A bonded pair of American bulldog mixes found as strays. They are extremely frightened of humans due to their past experiences and need a lot of help. Both require significant work on leash-training, house-training, and general comfort with people. They will need a foster who is patient, understanding, and committed to working with them through their fears. They will flourish in a home where they are the only dogs and can receive focused, loving attention. We can also offer training support to help assist with these two babies adjusting.
What We Need from You:
- Age Requirement: 21+ (or have parent approval if under 21)
- Commitment: Foster until the dog is adopted, or at least 2-4 weeks. Short-term emergency fostering is also appreciated!
- Transportation: Reliable access to transportation for adoption events in West Hollywood every other Saturday and vet appointments. (Events are mandatory)
- Experience: Comfort with large breeds and experience with dogs. (Please, no small dogs or cats in your home.)
- Family & Home Environment: No children under 10 in the home; other large dogs are fine. Ensure landlord/spouse approval.
- Immediate Availability: Ready to start fostering as soon as possible.
