Job Description

Your Career

We are looking for a corporate communications leader with an excitement for tech and innovation to help take Palo Alto Networks forward into our next phase of growth.

With world-class writing skills and a proven track record leading communications teams in tech and/or cybersecurity, you thrive on building PR strategies and campaigns that bolster reputations and bring innovation to life. Your creative ideas and strong relationships - both internally with stakeholders and externally with the media - mean your plans get results. Someone who thrives in a fast-paced and collaborative environment, you’re as comfortable working cross-functionally to develop long- term plans as you are jumping in to execute solutions to immediate issues.

You are keenly aware of the critical cybersecurity moment the world is in right now. And as cybersecurity touches broad audiences - from business to government, consumer to investor - you will have a communications background that prepares you for each.

Palo Alto Networks is a company where our mission and values are crucial to our work - and we care deeply about our people taking us, and the cybersecurity industry, forward. You’ll be passionate about not only amplifying that culture, but helping build it.

This is a full time position based in our California HQ, reporting to the chief communications officer. This key position will lead a team responsible for corporate communications, product communications, and public sector communications, plus manage media relations and agency relationships across the Americas region.

Your Impact

  • Establish PR strategy in conjunction with senior leadership across product, marketing, sales and people teams

  • Lead a team of communications experts who are passionate about security and the mission of the company

  • Craft and maintain messaging to support business priorities, including rolling up your sleeves and writing

  • Create ongoing outreach to strengthen and develop media relationships and other opportunities to amplify Palo Alto Networks innovation

  • Lead and manage communication strategy around reputational issues

  • Collaborate with and provide guidance to regional PR teams

  • Manage media agency strategy and budgets for a global team

Qualifications

Your Experience

  • 12-15 years’ PR and/or communications experience, with a background in tech and/or cybersecurity essential

  • Strong understanding of the media environment

  • A respected manager, with experience building (and inspiring!) teams

  • Proven track record building media relationships and shaping stories that drive conversations

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills-writing samples required

  • Strong team player and creative thinker, with experience working with international teams

  • Strong executive presence with the ability to build senior relationships

  • Highly organized and self-motivated who will oversee timely, first-rate execution by teams

  • Ability to work under pressure to adhere to tight, last-minute deadlines
