DescriptionAmazon Inbound Transportation Business Intelligence is seeking a candidate who is passionate about leveraging data to deliver actionable insights that impact business decisions to improve customer experience. Amazon transportation encompasses all of the operations that deliver shipments from our fulfillment centers and third party locations to customers worldwide. Because we strive for faster delivery to customers a successful candidate must be passionate about identifying and building solutions that will help drive a more efficient network and better customer experience.This role offers the opportunity to influence and drive a growing business area. The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer (Sr. BIE) will partner with various Amazon Inbound Transportation (AIT) teams to define, develop and manage the cross-functional strategy for U.S. domestic inbound transportation. They are accountable for identifying gaps and opportunities for improvements, and keeping stakeholders/leadership informed of progress. This person will also collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders including product managers, program managers, data scientists, software development engineers and other partner teams across all regions and transportation modes of U.S. domestic inbound. The Sr. BIE will build the foundational data pipelines and data tables, analyze large data sets, prove and disprove hypothesis, automate solutions and build self-service dashboards and reports. This person consistently employs high judgment and makes data-driven decisions, leading by example and influencing the AIT BI team to do the same.Key job responsibilities

Develop and lead design and execution of reporting solution for AIT

Work with product managers, data engineers, data scientists, and software engineers to define reporting needs

Build self-service tools and dashboard that not only gives aggregated metrics but also provide ways to pull granular data for defect verification, customer communication, deep-dives, etc.

Perform deep-dives and data analysis. Provide recommendation on new metrics or business decision.

Mentor teammates, provide inputs in team and org level strategic planning, lead cross org discussions

The AIT BI team within AIT is responsible for inbound data analytics and engineering support for the AIT org and various stakeholder and partner teams.We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:Atlanta, GA, USA | Bellevue, WA, USA | Nashville, TN, USA | Pheonix, AZ, USA | Santa Monica, CA, USABasic Qualifications

10+ years of professional or military experience

5+ years of SQL experience

Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets

Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results

Experience with AWS technologies

Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.

Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining

Master's degree in statistics, data science, or an equivalent quantitative field

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs

Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

The base pay for this position ranges from $104,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market.
