Senior Orthopaedic Technician (Night Shift)

DescriptionOur UCLA Santa Monica Medica Center is seeking to hire a part-time Senior Orthopaedic Technician to join our Orthopaedic Surgery Department. Our program creates a platform for unparalleled contributions to adult and pediatric patient care and scientific discovery in orthopaedic surgery and musculoskeletal medicine. You will provide assistance to patients and physicians in the full scope of orthopaedic services. Primary duties include:

Assessing the condition of wounds prior to cast applications

Fitting, application, adjustment, and removal of braces, casts, and splints

Educating patient/family on cast, splint, brace, and skin care

Providing medical assistance such as rooming patients and prepping patient for clinic visit

Cleaning and stocking patient examination and treatment rooms

Documenting patients' medical record and ensures proper insurance authorizations

Other duties as assigned

Please note you will work the After-Hours Clinic from 5pm-10pm, Monday-Thursday.Salary: $31.82/hr - $41.95/hrQualificationsValid and active OTR certification from NBCOT or ASOP (Please include certification expiration date within your application and/or resume)Minimum two-years full-time work experience in either a hospital, clinic or office setting working directly in the treatment of the orthopaedic patient(s).Previous experience cast/splintingAbility to work flexible scheduleWorking knowledge of anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.Ability to triage medical problems within scope of job responsibilities.Ability to follow through on assignments while helping to facilitate the organization, prioritization, and completion of all clinic tasks through collaboration with other clinic staff.Skill at working independently and prioritizing assignments to complete work in a timely manner.Interpersonal skills to deal with patients, staff and volunteers of diverse educational, economical and cultural backgrounds.Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skillsUCLA Health welcomes all individuals, without regard to race, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, national origin or disabilities, and we proudly look to each person’s unique achievements and experiences to further set us apart.
