The Department of Health Services seeks a highly skilled and motivated Supervising Accountant to join their team. This role involves overseeing accounting staff, managing complex fiscal activities, and ensuring compliance with audits and grant-related financial processes. The Supervising Accountant will work closely with the Department Accounting Manager, organize project teams, and provide financial insights to various teams. Some additional responsibilities include:
Supervising a team of accountants and staff
Assisting the Department Accounting Manager during the fiscal year-end closing
Reviewing grant claims and financial reports for accuracy
Training staff on various accounting procedures and issues
Performing and reviewing complex fiscal activities
Coordinating the department's compliance with the Single Audit Act
Addressing financial audit issues as needed
Preparing financial projections and reports for team projects and fiscal year-end
Managing grant drawdowns
Advising project teams on fiscal impacts related to their projects
