Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing payroll processes, ensuring accuracy in employee compensation, and maintaining compliance with tax regulations. This position requires strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of accounting principles.
This is a part-time position with the ability to grow to full time for the right candidate. Must be able to commit to Monday through Wednesday, hours are flexible, but office hours are generally 8am to 4:30pm.
Duties - including but not limited to:
Process payroll with outside accountants for all employees across multiple companies accurately and on time (weekly basis), ensuring compliance with company policies and government regulations.
Maintain detailed records of payroll transactions, including hours worked, deductions, and bonuses.
Assist in the preparation of journal entries related to payroll expenses.
Collaborate with the administrative team to manage employee records and resolve any discrepancies related to payroll.
Support corporate accounting functions by providing necessary payroll data for financial reporting.
Prepare information for audits of payroll to ensure compliance with internal and external controls.
Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations that may affect payroll processing.
Union reporting & assist with dispatch requests
Assist with other accounting related tasks as needed
Qualifications
Proven experience in payroll management or a similar accounting role is preferred.
Proficiency in technical accounting principles and practices.
Excellent 10 key typing skills for accurate data entry.
Familiarity with corporate accounting processes and general ledger reconciliation is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are essential for managing multiple tasks efficiently.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office 365

Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
