Emerson Montessori School is seeking a Spanish teacher for an IMMEDIATE opening in Palo Alto. The position can be part time or full time, but the latter will require the successful candidate to do more than Spanish.
The ideal candidate understands and loves children: warm, caring, sparkling, interested, enthusiastic, committed, creative, positive, and capable. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree and teaching experience with school-age learners. Fully fluent language skills in Spanish and English are required. Exceptional abilities, talents, and backgrounds (including math, science, humanities) are especially desirable.
Candidates should live within 25 miles of Palo Alto; out-of-town candidates will not be considered. Candidates must be U.S. citizens or be permitted to work in the U.S. now. (Candidates without the requisite experience may still submit résumés, which will be reviewed for other possible openings.)
The minimum hours are 1:00-4:00 four or five days per week. Full-time teachers work an eight-hour day, year round, with up to five weeks of paid time off (plus more, subject to approval) at times of their choosing. Compensation for the positions is competitive, based on qualifications and experience. (When applying, please indicate salary requirements.) Early Learning Institute provides the full range of benefits, plus sabbaticals and training funds. Head teachers have two hours per day of paid non-teaching time for preparation.
