Job Title: Chef/Kitchen Manager

The BreakRoom is a new and exciting establishment nestled in the heart of downtown Berkeley. We offer a unique fusion of pool, entertainment, social ambiance, and exceptional dining. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chef/Kitchen Manager to join our team and bring innovative culinary expertise to our vibrant space.

Responsibilities:

Menu Innovation: Create and develop unique, flavorful, and visually appealing menu items that align with our bar/pool hall atmosphere, with a focus on attracting new customers.

Kitchen Operations: Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and consistency. Lead and inspire the kitchen team to deliver exceptional dining experiences.

Cost Management: Implement effective cost control measures, manage inventory, and optimize food costs to contribute to the overall profitability of the establishment.

Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other departments to design and execute special promotions, themed events, and seasonal offerings to enhance customer engagement.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Chef or Kitchen Manager, preferably in a bar or pub setting.

Creative and Culinary Skills: A strong background in developing innovative and attractive menu items, showcasing a passion for culinary excellence.

Leadership: Ability to lead and motivate a kitchen team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

Business Acumen: Understanding of cost control measures, inventory management, and the ability to contribute to the business's overall success.

Requirements:

Culinary degree or equivalent experience.

3+ years of experience in a similar role.

Health and safety certifications.

Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
