Who are we seeking?: We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic dental assistant with experience working with children or in pediatric dentistry. As we are a new, growing practice, the ideal candidate would be interested in working 3-days a week to start and adding additional clinical days as the office continues to grow. An ideal candidate should have basic aptitude in primary teeth numbering and procedures (ie. fillings, pulpotomies, stainless steel crowns, zirconia crowns, extractions, space maintenance). Prior front office experience in addition to clinical duties is a significant plus. Strong references and a willingness to learn will be valued for candidates without pediatric experience. Primary Job Responsibilities:
Patient interaction & engagement/delivering exceptional customer service
Chairside assisting (tray/room setups, four-handed dentistry, suctioning, room breakdown)
Supporting the doctor in behavior management (ie. tell-show-do)
Digital dental radiography (intraoral & extraoral)
Charting & note taking in Open Dental software
Intake of patient medical & dental histories
Instrument sterilization, supply inventory
Cross-training with the front office team & occasionally helping with admin duties
Salary: starting at $25-32/hour (compensation will vary by aptitude, qualifications & years of experience in pediatrics)
Qualifications:
Registered Dental Assistant License, or completion of a dental assisting program
Experience in pediatric dentistry or in early childhood care
Knowledge of dental terminology and pediatric behavior management
Strong background in general dentistry and pediatric care
