HR Generalist needed Part Time Hybrid work

HR Generalist part time position for management company. Hybrid schedule-must be able to be in Santa Rosa office once per week and as needed.

Description:

The Human Resource Generalist performs a variety of tasks and duties significant to successful operations of Human Resources for various companies. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, recruitment/employment, onboarding, training, insurance and benefits administration, safety, employee relations, and employment law compliance. The Human Resources Generalist is a dynamic thinker and problem solver with solid intrapersonal skills and the ability to work quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

Maintains accurate and up-to-date employee records to ensure accurate and complete employee information, data-entry, records, and documentation.

Serves as a main point of contact for general employee inquiries, concerns, training and exploring areas of concern as observed.

Supports full-cycle onboarding and terminations for multiple companies.

Follows-up with each new hire to ensure all necessary trainings are completed for their positions. Work with contractors (as needed) to ensure all necessary trainings are done for PCI audit.

Make sure yearly trainings are completed as needed and work with PCI auditor yearly.

Manage all employee leaves.

Maintains a thorough understanding of Employee Handbooks and California\Multi State Employment law and update yearly

Track and updated (as needed) I-9 documentation, SHPT & WVPP as required by law.

Manage Open Enrollment; work with Insurance company to insure a smooth enrollment period, educate staff on benefit programs and resources. Enter insurance information into the payroll system for Cobra compliance. Update POP plans yearly.

Audits completion of open enrollment, new hire and life event enrollments through the year

Full cycle 401K management

Support Human Resources projects and initiatives as they arise.

Complete BLS surveys as needed

Handles employee relations counseling and participating in investigations to address employee complaints or concerns, following up in a consistent and appropriate manner.

Leads investigations as directed by management, providing recommendation in accordance with labor laws and company policies.

Effectively communicates HR policies, procedures, programs, initiatives and laws with management team and employees.

Perform yearly policy review of company policies and programs related to wellness, sustainability, community, diversity and other causes.

Ability to be responsive and communicative throughout the day via email, Slack and in person to support a diverse workforce.

Assists with safety, compliance, and other necessary training programs.

Comply with all company safety policies, practices, and procedures. Participate in safety training and report all unsafe conditions or work practices.

Create Job Descriptions for various companies.

Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Proven understanding of California Employment Law.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll\timekeeping software.

Ability to improve processes, innovate, and implement ideas.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to multiple tasks, analyze and solve practical problems, prioritize and delegate tasks and projects, work both independently and as part of a team, and adapt to frequent changes in the work environment.

Possess intermediate computer skills which include email, internet, word processing, Excel, and basic database activity.

Education, Experience:

Associate’s degree (or higher) preferred with 12-24 months work experience; Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Previous experience in a Human Resources role.

Job Type: Part-time hybrid role M-F. Ability to report to Santa Rosa office a must.

Pay: $32 - $38\hour DOE
