Family Law Associate Attorney

Please note: This is an in-office position. Once onboard, there may be opportunities for hybrid work, but the desire is for a primarily office-based attorney.

Well-established and respected boutique family law practice in the East Bay seeks an experienced junior-to-mid-level associate (two to five years) with family law experience. The size of our office allows for unique mentoring and opportunities to play lead roles in interacting with and providing solutions to our clients. The firm represents a diverse and sophisticated client base throughout the Bay Area, emphasizing Contra Costa and Alameda Counties.

Our practice focuses on all aspects of family law including:

· Division of assets

· Complex financial issues

· Business interests

· Spousal support

· Child support

· Custody and parenting issues

· Post-Judgment modifications

· Pre-marital and post-marital agreements

· Cohabitation Agreements

We seek motivated, committed, meticulous and organized individuals with outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Candidates with an enterprising spirit and driving work ethic are particularly desired.

Duties of this position can include:

· Executing case strategy with senior attorneys, paralegals, and support staff.

· Managing high-level/high-asset cases by maintaining contact with people involved in the case, preparing for depositions, reviewing court documents, drafting letters, writing, reviewing discovery, preparing responses to opposing counsel, and generating status reports.

· Supporting case planning by preparing summaries and materials for settlement conferences, preparing pleadings, monitoring discovery responses, and organizing materials for case review.

· Communicating internally and with clients and opposing counsel to move through the case process effectively.

· Involvement with trial proceedings working with support staff in organizing evidence, preparing exhibits, scheduling witnesses, and ensuring witnesses are ready/prepared when needed.

· Attending court proceedings in person and virtually as needed to represent clients.

· Involvement in business development and networking functions with firm leadership.

Qualifications for this position include:

· J.D. degree and active admission to the State Bar of California.

· Proficiency with MS Office, Outlook, and other legal-related technology applications. Exposure or experience using Judicial Counsel Form preferred.

· Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, ensuring nothing slips through the cracks.

· Elevated level of emotional intelligence, empathy, and compassion.

· Effective organizational, project management, communications, and people skills.

· Excellent analytical skills.

· Must collaborate effectively with other motivated professionals in a demanding environment.

· Excellent spoken and written English.

· Unrestricted ability to work and be paid in the United States. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
