Raff Law, APC is looking to hire a Paralegal for our growing practice in the heart of downtown Petaluma. 4. In addition to fixed compensation, we provide discretionary payouts to staff depending on year-end evaluations and the profitability of the firm. Bonus payouts have been up to $26,000 to employees, but this amount is not guaranteed nor is it a limit on how much in discretionary bonuses may be paid out in future years;
The primary attributes we are looking for are whether the candidate:
a) Is organized and can complete assignments on time without frequent reminders about what needs to be completed;
b) Is a fast learner, but is also not afraid to ask questions if they need help;
c) Fits well with our existing team; and
d) Is very detail oriented, maybe driving your family and friends crazy with your need to arrange things in a very organized way or correct their grammar; and
e) Applicants must qualify as a paralegal according to California Business and Professions Code ยง6450(c).
While we are primarily concerned with the skills above, a perfect candidate will also have experience:
a) Preparing pleadings and other court forms;
b) Assisting attorneys with discovery requests and motions;
c) Managing trial preparation including: coordination of witnesses and travel, trial exhibits, charts, trial notebook, subpoenas, and page lines;
d) Communicationing with clients, experts, and attorneys about cases; and;
e) Reviewing contracts, preparing estate documents or probating estates in court; and
f) Preparing corporate documents for small businesses.
This is a salaried position with a range of $70,000 to $95,000 DOE, starting with a 90 day training and evaluation period.
