Our clients are often confronted with navigating family tensions that arise upon the death of a loved one and disputes over assets; treating each client with compassion, empathy, and understanding is equally important as their representation. This is an extremely busy practice which requires all team members to demonstrate a strong work ethic, impeccable organizational and time management skills, and excellent communication skills.
This position requires a professional, organized, self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask and interact with attorney and clients in a fast-paced legal environment.
Qualifications:
-Minimum 3 years experience working in a trust and estates or civil litigation law firm
-Highly proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat Pro
-Proficiency with Clio strongly preferred
-Demonstrated organizational and time-management skills
-Ability to multi-task, juggle multiple and varying tasks each day, set and meet deadlines
-Strong written and oral communication skills
-Experience propounding and responding to discovery
-Higher pay scale for applicants with litigation support experience and/or those proficient with formatting pleadings, electronic filing in state courts, calendaring civil litigation-related dates and deadlines.
Responsibilities:
-Maintain client database and client files
-Maintain calendars for attorney including scheduling meetings, depositions, mediations, and any other necessary appointments as needed
-Calculate and calendar case related deadlines
-Prepare legal documents, memos, emails, and other written correspondence of behalf of the attorneys
-Assist with substantial components of a broad range of financial, legal and transactional matters
-Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, opposing party, and/or third parties
-Maintain and update firm calendar and tasks in real time each day
-Track case and office expenses in Clio (case costs, filing fees, etc)
