The Bay Ride, a premier charity cycling event in the San Francisco Bay Area, is seeking an enthusiastic and organized Volunteer Coordinator for our upcoming 10th annual ride.
Responsibilities:
Recruit volunteers by reaching out to cycling clubs, coalitions, and community organizations
Total volunteers needed include 4 for each of our 4 rest stops (2 shifts of 2 people) and 4 for check in of the ride, so 20 in total.
Manage volunteer database and communication
Coordinate volunteer schedules and assignments
Ensure volunteers have necessary resources and information
Oversee volunteer check-in process on event day
Manage volunteer needs at four rest stops during the ride
Provide post-event follow-up and appreciation to volunteers
Qualifications:
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Experience in volunteer management or event coordination preferred
Familiarity with the Bay Area cycling community a plus
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficiency in basic computer skills and database management
This is a part-time, temporary position leading up to our event on September 14, 2024. Compensation commensurate with experience.
