Office assistant
Hansen Landscape Contractors Castro Valley seeks office assistant to work along side our office manager Deborah. Deborah started in a similar position some years ago and then learned our office/clerical operations and took over for our previous office manager of 18 years after she left for personal medical reasons. Deborah will be with us awhile but at some point plans to retire and move out of the area. This is the reason for this open new position. First you will be an assistant and then over time learn the entire operations to become the office manager. Our office is pretty chill, our project manager Jack of 30 years works there too. Jack started out as a wheelbarrow pusher and grew his position to become a project manager and now is our company’s general manager. No drama with Jack great guy, dependable, reliable beyond words. Not much drama rama goes on there. It is pretty laid back.
Initial responsibilities will include answering phone, filing, entering invoices and payments into our accounting system, time card reconciliation and posting to our payroll department.
Candidates must have a valid CDL, a good DMV history and personal reliable transportation.
We seek someone who is willing and capable to expand their role with additional responsibilities, ultimately learning the entire clerical office back end and possesses the proactive initiative to do so.
Hours worked both in duration and days are negotiable. We are a family run business and do our best to support as we can those that work with us in regard to personal availability and emergency issues. While we work all year long, there may be some times of the year occasions where we may ask you not to come in. Our company has been in business 46 years. Our first employee was hired 44 years ago and is still with us. Ten of our employees have been with us 15-20 years or longer.
