Operations Manager / Executive Administrator
Location: San Francisco Bay Area (Hybrid Remote, 2-3 days onsite as needed)
Salary: $75,000-$95,000 annually, DOE

No Starch Press, a respected publisher of technical books since 1994, seeks a seasoned operations professional to manage critical business functions and special projects. We need an experienced self-starter who can independently handle complex business operations with minimal oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Business Operations & Compliance (Primary Focus)
Independently manage correspondence and compliance with state agencies
Oversee financial processes, including coordinating with bookkeepers and ensuring timely payments
Handle time-sensitive regulatory filings and maintain impeccable records
Manage vendor relationships and contracts
Handle sensitive HR communications and documentation
Strategic Project Management
Lead the reorganization of our San Francisco office space, including:
Developing and executing comprehensive organization strategy
Making executive decisions about resource allocation and space utilization
Managing vendor relationships and coordinating external services
Creating sustainable systems for future operations
Required Experience & Expertise
5+ years of hands-on experience managing business operations
Proven track record handling state agency communications and compliance requirements
Strong background in financial process management and vendor coordination
Demonstrated ability to lead projects independently from conception to completion
Experience managing sensitive business communications and documentation
Expert-level proficiency with business tools and documentation systems
