FHAR is a progressive and innovative agency that provides residential, supported living, vocational, and recreational services to over 220 individuals in San Mateo County. The operations manager has a leadership role and is responsible for overseeing daily operations, including facilities management, vehicle fleet management, safety and injury prevention management, and staff training.
SIGNING BONUS: $1,000. This bonus upon hire must be mentioned, and the bonus will be paid after satisfactorily completing a 90-day probationary period.
Facility Management:
Manage the upkeep and maintenance of all agency properties, including landscaping. Will collect daily maintenance/safety reports and address issues accordingly. At a minimum, quarterly facility inspections will be conducted to ensure properties are maintained to agency standards and are clean and orderly without safety-hazardous conditions. Supervise maintenance staff and contractors, including assessment and repairs. Solicit, retain, and supervise outside contractors for jobs that in-house maintenance staff cannot address or repair. Oversee the annual testing and servicing of all facility fire alarms and ensure the fire alarm equipment is continuously operational. Will also ensure the fire extinguishers are serviced and tagged annually for proper operation. Emergency Response: Will be available to respond to on-site emergencies promptly and effectively. Develop and maintain an operations and maintenance plan that includes scheduled maintenance, policies, and procedures.
Vehicle Fleet Management:
Responsible for overseeing the upkeep and maintenance of agency vehicles, including registrations and smog tests, and ensuring all vehicles operate safely. Will ensure vehicle inspection reports and travel logs are promptly submitted monthly by the program managers. A staff driver orientation will be conducted, including online testing for new eligible drivers. Will oversee the DMV Pull Notice Program, including registering and/or deleting employees. Will implement and oversee the agency’s vehicle Azuga GPS program for driver safety compliance.
Safety and Injury Prevention Management :
Will be responsible for maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental laws. The agency’s Injury, Illness, and Prevention Plan will be updated to keep current with OSHA and state safety regulations. Will schedule and document new hire training and ongoing periodic safety training in-services for facility staff.
Will serve as the agency's primary point of contact for all work-related injuries and workers' compensation claims. Will respond to on-site emergencies promptly and effectively. In collaboration and partnership with the agency worker’s comp insurance carrier and employee, all employee claims and health-related services will be closely monitored. Will partner with directors, managers, and care staff to ensure compliance with the workplace safety program and to identify areas needing improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS
BA degree or higher or a relevant field is preferred
· 1-3+ years previous experience as a Safety Coordinator or similar role preferred.
· Experience in occupational safety methods, standards, and practices, including OSHA and EPA standards preferred.
· Demonstrated experience in implementing policies and standard operating procedures through developed partnerships and influencing skills
· Proficiency in computer operations and comfortable with internet-based applications.
· Outstanding organizational and communication skills
· Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
· Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
· Creative, with a “can do” proactive attitude and an ability to continuously identify and take advantage of opportunities for improvement.
Valid California Drivers License with clean DMV record.
