Seeking Assistant Store Manager for a candy shop in downtown Novato. Hours/days are flexible but will include shifts from 11:45-4 or 4-8:30. Would prefer at least some afternoons between Monday and Friday. Total of 20-25 hours per week. Come to work where the customers are happy and help them relive old memories!
Requirements:
- Must have at least 1 year retail experience including using a POS system
- Be honest, reliable, hard-working, on-time, and creative
- Ability to lift 25 pounds and stand for 4-5 hours per day
- Must be able to work quickly and complete tasks accurately
- Basic math skills of money counting and change
- Customer service skills
- Must have transportation and be on time
- Interest in candy and gifts and the ability to learn about new products
- Leadership qualities and ability to manage a team
Duties include (but are not limited to):
- Doing store inventory and ordering product
- Coaching employees and team communications
- Organizing storage areas
- Stocking shelves and creating appealing shelf and window displays
- Marking prices on merchandise as needed
- Operating a cash register, receiving cash from customers, and making change
- Ideas for new services, products, and processes
- Communicating with customers who request special orders or parties
- Making a daily checklist of tasks for the team
- Creating signage for the shop
- Cleaning such as sweeping, wiping counters and tables
- Adding new items to inventory in POS or updating the Barcode as needed
- If interested: social media posts promoting the business, organizing special events, making recommendations for improvements
Benefits:
Pay is hourly from $20-25 per hour, depending on experience, plus tips for shifts worked. Employee discount is offered. The shop is located in Downtown Novato, and has a very upbeat, happy setting.
