The Hatch is hiring! We're looking to add a waiter to our experienced team on a part time basis. Full-service restaurant experience (either fine dining or upscale casual format) is a prerequisite for this position, this is not an entry level role.
Waiters at The Hatch can handle a quick pace, work well as a team, and are gracious and welcoming to guests. Product knowledge is important here both for food and spirits as we offer a full bar with an extensive whiskey selection.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Welcome guests, anticipate needs, and provide a level of service befitting a casual yet focused, detail-oriented establishment
- Display a passion for hospitality and the Central Coast lifestyle
- Keep a clean and organized floor section, strictly adhering to established sanitation, safety and hygiene guidelines
- Maintain a detailed knowledge of our changing offerings, both in food and beverage, and communicate those accurately to our guests, recognizing sales opportunities
- Cultivate restaurant regulars, both locals and frequent visitors to the area
- Build and maintain relationships and communication with all staff: bartenders, culinary team, front of house and ownership
- Demonstrate high personal integrity, business ethics and take every opportunity to promote the restaurant
QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of 3 years experience waiting tables in an upscale casual or fine dining atmosphere
- Possess a strong knowledge of classic cocktails, spirits, beer and wine, especially those products sourced from the Central Coast
- Possess an inherent knack for gracious hospitality and have a proven record of exhibiting that trait to guests and colleagues alike
- CA Food Handlers card
- RBS Alcohol Certification
- Self-starter, flexible schedule and ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Time management skills
