Rest periods: You are authorized and permitted to take paid rest periods. The rest period is based on the total hours worked daily and must be at the minimum rate of a net ten consecutive minutes for each four hour work period or major fraction thereof. If you work an 8 hour shift, you are therefore entitled to two rest periods. It is your responsibility to schedule your own rest periods. The rest periods are required to be taken on the hotel premises. Authorized rest periods are counted as hours worked and are not deducted from wages. At the end of each pay period, you will be asked to verify whether or not you have been provided your rest periods. If a rest period is interrupted due to an emergency or guest need, the guest service representative is authorized and permitted to take a new and complete ten-minute rest period in place of the interrupted rest period. If the guest service representative is unable to take one or more full rest periods during a shift, the guest service representative is responsible for recording the missed rest period on their time sheet.

You are responsible for accurately recording all hours worked. In the event you are contacted for hotel related business while you are not at work, or handle company business on personal time (vacation), you must record and be paid for the amount of time you spent working on the business related issues.
