Nationally recognized as a quality lead St. Josephs is consistently chosen as the most preferred hospital by local consumers.ResponsibilitiesUnder general supervision and medical direction ensures an efficient and organized office for the laboratory. Performs data and and order entry functions responsible for various duties associated with support functions of the laboratory that are clerical in nature. These tasks encompass but are not limited to such acts as specimen handling telephone and verbal communication filing sorting and distribution. Provide assistance in filling supply orders ensuring specimens reports and supplies are effectively routed and completed. Responsible for use of pneumatic tube batching receiving and distribution of specimens. Dispatches resources and staff as required to nursing floors and clients. Responsible for courier duties on an as-needed basis and other responsibilities assigned by the supervisor or designee. Frequent use of Hospital/laboratory systems required. QualificationsMinimum
2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
Valid CA Drivers License (driving record must be free of violations).
Excellent phone/customer service skills. Must be able to multitask effectively. Must be able to take initiative in performing duties. Intermediate computer skills.
Medical Terminology.
Preferred
Clinical billing experience preferred
