Office/Accounting Manager

The position:

This position is responsible for the financial management of the organization, as well as manage the day-to-day operations. Serve as support staff in all areas as requested. Serve as support to CEO for all designated action committees. Serve as administrator in the absence of the CEO. Serve as the secretary for the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee.

Primary Duties Include But Are Not Limited To:

Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the office

Responsible for correct and complete bookkeeping practices

Responsible for all monies received and disbursed by the Chamber under the direction of the CEO.

Responsible for bookkeeping management and FPPC reporting for the Political Action Committee

Responsible for the bookkeeping management for the Chambers of Commerce Alliance

Responsible for the bookkeeping management for the Ventura County Taxpayers Association

Record all monies received into QuickBooks

Record month-end journal entries

Complete monthly bank reconciliations

Make weekly/monthly deposits

Produce monthly financial reports for multiple entities

Work with CPA on annual tax returns

Post and pay all accounts payable

Responsible for processing payroll

Requirements:

College degree or relevant experience

Minimum four years of accounting office experience

QuickBooks experience a must

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Detail oriented with strong organizational abilities and able to handle multiple deadlines simultaneously

Must be able to self-supervise

Flexibility with schedule and ability to meet unusual or long hours

Working knowledge of MS Office Suite Software “ Word, Outlook and Excel experience a must

Ability to work with a variety of people, wear many hats, and be a team player

Must have California drivers license and the ability to drive to off-site locations

Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds

This position is a professional, salaried position that is exempt from overtime pay requirements. It requires self-supervision, policy implementation, leadership and work beyond the context of an eight-hour day without additional compensation.
