Description Prestigious AV-rated civil litigation law firm in Walnut Creek, CA, has an immediate opening for a skilled Litigation Attorney to join their team on a contract-to-hire basis. As an Attorney with this firm, you'll be assigned projects related to various aspects of the litigation lifecycle, including legal research, drafting motions and briefs, discovery, and trial preparation.Key Responsibilities:
Review intake documents to develop case strategies and next steps.
Draft various legal documents, including motions, pleadings, briefs, and memos.
Conduct legal research to support case preparation and strategy via Westlaw and LexisNexis.
Manage discovery processes, including document review and preparing discovery-related pleadings.
Prepare for trials and depositions, including organizing exhibits and witness lists.
Communicate with clients to provide updates and gather necessary information.
Utilize civil litigation experience to navigate complex legal matters.
Handle additional projects and tasks as assigned by senior attorneys.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Active license to practice law in California.
2+ years of California-based, post-bar civil litigation experience.
Ability to work on-site.
Proven ability to handle all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, and trial.
Excellent legal research and writing skills, with the ability to draft complex legal documents such as motions, briefs, and pleadings.
Strong understanding of civil procedure.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional demeanor.
Ability to thrive in a high-paced environment and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
