Traveling Controls Technician II Location: Centennial, COJob Id: 3976 # of Openings: 1 Traveling Controls Technician II (Centennial, CO) Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hourRelocation AvailableExpiration Date of Job Posting: Continuous Position Summary: The Traveling Controls Technician (Level II) works with the Team lead and department engineers to Install and service standard and custom-engineered Woodward control systems in the company’s Rotating Machinery and Power Generation division. Focusing on Woodward product lines, this position places heavy emphasis on general electrical knowledge. This position requires interfacing with the fabrication shop & with the customer in the field and requires the ability to independently manage a constantly changing and often unpredictable schedule. In this customer-interfacing role, the ability to manage your own schedule, multiple tasks, and multiple priorities is essential to success.Job Qualifications:

Associate degree in a technical discipline plus 1-2 years of proven field experience, or relevant military training plus 2 years of proven field experience.

Electrical Journeyman license is a plus.

Requires extensive travel by automobile within territory or to branch offices. May require occasional travel by air. Up to 75% regional travel required.

Demonstrate a commitment to workplace safety and leaving every workplace better than you found it.

Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrate problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail and accuracy.

Good mechanical aptitude and industry knowledge including Woodward Valves and Actuators.

Ability to work under minimal or no supervision.

Ability to interpret technical manuals, datasheets, and other vendor documents and properly apply vendor-supplied components.

Ability to understand and troubleshoot simple electrical and mechanical systems.

Ability to work independently and autonomously.

Possess a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record; able to travel to various locations within territory.

Able to speak, write, and read the English language.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Works with other in-house engineers to install Woodward control system, Valves & Actuators based on customer specifications and general engineering principles.

Interpret and understand engineered drawings, and schematics to build control panels.

Carry out wiring in the field as per Engineered drawings and site supervisor.

Interprets technical manuals, datasheets, and other vendor documentation to ensure correct component application.

Performs field installation, commissioning, and service activities.

Gain proficiency and experience with a wide variety of Woodward products in various applications and platforms (gas and steam turbine, small and large reciprocating engine, air/fuel ratio control, power management, standard products, etc.).

Full proficiency with PC’s and general computer software (Windows, MS Office, etc.).

Other Job Functions:

Assists shop personnel with developing, building, and testing products prior to shipment.

Acts professionally as a company ambassador when dealing with internal and external customers.

Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies.

Attends required safety training classes and maintains necessary certifications.

Completes product line training.

Conducts all business activities in accordance with Winn-Marion policies.

Able to meet deadlines, track expenses, complete trip reports, and other organizational requirements.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Conditions:

Able to sit and work at computer keyboard for extended period.

Able to lift and move 25 - 75 pounds on occasion.

Maintain regular and on-time attendance. Hours may exceed 40 hours per week. Able to work weekends, holidays, and able to respond to calls as needed to fulfill business objectives.

The employee may be required to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crawl or crouch, and work in close quarters.

Employee may be exposed to extreme weather conditions, warehouse environments, or production/manufacturing locations.
