The Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver is a highly selective

today's gPosition SummaryThe University of Denver Lamont School of Music seeks an artist-teacher of

Trumpet at the rank of Assistant Professor, tenure-track, to join its

faculty in Fall 2025. The trumpet studio is comprised of both masters and

undergraduate students who study in a variety of musical styles

(classical, jazz, commercial music). The successful candidate will

teach the equivalent of six, in-person courses across the Fall, Winter,

and Spring quarters. We invite candidates with demonstrable success as

performers who will be active in recruiting students and who understand the

changing landscape and challenges faced by today's musicians.

Additionally, competitive applicants will demonstrate a commitment to

diversity, equity, and inclusion, including inclusive pedagogy, as

they teach Lamont students to become artist-citizens committed to the public

good. Players of all musical genres are encouraged to apply.Essential Functions

Teach all applied Trumpet students including standard and auxiliary trumpets

Teach Trumpet Pedagogy & Repertoire and courses in one's area(s) of

interest and expertise

Coach/lead small ensembles

Mentor and advise students

Actively recruit students, individually and collaboratively with colleagues

Maintain an active, dynamic performance career

Serve on School of Music, College, and University governance committees

as assigned or elected

Required Qualifications

Master's degree in Music or 5-7 years of equivalent professional

experience and accomplishment

Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence and effectiveness

Ability to teach a variety of musical styles and genres

Record of accomplishment as a performer

Preferred Qualifications

National or international reputation as a performer

Ability to perform in a variety of musical styles and genres

Proven record of teaching and recruiting at the university level

Ability to work effectively with diverse populations

Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with inclusive teaching practices

Evidence of active support of diversity, equity, and inclusion in

teaching and schola ship/ creative work

Work Schedule:

Full-time, 9-month appointment. Work schedule to be determined with the

Director of the Lamont School of Music.Application Deadline

The salary range for this position is $75,000-$80,000The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its
