Staff Accountant

Description We are seeking a hardworking and detail-oriented Payroll Administrator for our large organization, responsible for processing payroll for 2,000 to 3,000 employees. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll administration, along with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.Responsibilities:

Effectively process payroll for 2,000 - 3,000 employees in a timely and accurate manner.

Ensure all payroll transactions are processed efficiently and accurately, including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.

Verify paychecks with timesheets and other records.

Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer employee payroll queries.

Prepare and submit reports to the Senior Management on payroll matters.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.

Collaborate with the Human Resources department and Finance department for resolving any discrepancies.

Process new hires, terminations, and employee changes in the payroll system.

Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.

Keep up-to-date with current payroll tax requirements and relevant laws associated with the processing of employee wage data, including payroll taxes, employee federal and state income and social security taxes and etc.

Requirements

Proven experience as a payroll administrator, payroll clerk or similar role

Familiarity with general accounting principles

Experience in data collection, entry, and reporting with great attention to detail and confidentiality

Solid knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and regulations

Strong math skills with an ability to spot numerical errors

Good knowledge of MS Office particularly Excel

Outstanding organizational and time-management skills

Excellent communication abilities with aptitude in problem-solving

A degree in business administration, finance or relevant field; professional certification (e.g. CPP, CPM) is a plus.
