Title: House Manager & Family Assistant
Location: Golden, CO (80401)
Employment Type: Part-time (10–12 hours/week, potential to grow)
Start Date: ASAP, ideally by September 1
Compensation: $28–$30/hour based on experience
Bonus/Incentives: Annual bonuses (holiday and performance-based)
Schedule: Flexible weekday scheduling (generally between 9am–5pm). We value someone who can look ahead month by month to align on schedules around travel and family needs; some evening flexibility and weekend availability for childcare appreciated
About Our Family:
We are a warm, professional couple with two happy, energetic daughters (ages 2 and 4) and two sweet-natured dogs (a Golden Doodle and Australian Shepherd). Our girls attend full-time daycare in nearby Lakewood, CO. Mom works from home in software sales and travels regularly for work, while Dad works in private equity and also travels about once a month. With no family nearby, we’re building a trusted team to support our household and help us be fully present with our kids when we’re home.

You’re a great communicator, enthusiastic about supporting families, and capable of anticipating needs before we ask. You enjoy working independently, take pride in doing things well, and can adapt to the flow of family life.
Our ideal person:
-Is warm, reliable, and confident around young children
-Takes initiative and communicates openly
-Is detail-oriented and comfortable with structure
-Has experience in caregiving, household management, or both
-Is kitchen-comfortable and values healthy meals
-Is open to occasional travel with our family (e.g., weekend in Vail)
-Understands and respects child safety (helmets, choking hazards, etc.)
-Is trustworthy, competent, and flexible
-Spanish-speaking is a plus, but not required.
Key Responsibilities:
Household Management & Organization:
-Maintain home organization systems (pantry, closets, toys, storage)
-Clean out fridge/pantry, reset daily spaces, prep for cleaners (every other Friday)
-Oversee household calendar, seasonal swaps, donation coordination
-Pack/unpack for family travel and prep for holidays or guest stays
-Coordinate with vendors/service providers as needed
Inventory Management & Errands:
-Track and restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies
-Run errands (dry cleaning, returns, grocery, Target runs, gift shopping)
-Manage online orders (Amazon, Costco, Instacart, etc.)
-Purchase clothing or gear for kids and restock essentials
Meal Planning & Preparation:
-Plan and prep meals/snacks for kids and prep for lunches for adults (5x/week) - we are generally healthy eaters and love diverse and flavorful cooking
-Assist in prepping ingredients for family dinners (parents will still own cooking dinners!)
-Shop for groceries and meal-related items
-Pack school lunches and maintain beverage/snack supply
-Incorporate variety, healthy proteins, veggies, and flavor into meals
-Clean up kitchen post-meal prep
Laundry & Linen Care:
-Wash, dry, fold and organize clothing, bedding, towels (prioritizing children’s laundry)
-Iron or steam clothes and prepare weekly outfits as needed
-Schedule and manage dry cleaning pick-ups and drop-offs
Pet Care:
-Walk, feed, and clean up after dogs during scheduled hours in the home
-Schedule vet, grooming, or doggy daycare appointments
-Keep pet supplies stocked and tidy
Vehicle Management:
-Oversee vehicle upkeep: fuel, cleanliness, vacuuming, appointments
-Track registration and maintenance schedules
Family Support & Child Assistance:
-Assist with daycare pick-up or drop-off using family car (as needed)
-Provide backup childcare or play supervision (weekends valued)
-Prep school bags, clothing, snacks, and assist with child-related errands
-Flexibility to provide regular weekend availability for date nights or special events
Deep Cleaning & Special Projects:
-Tackle occasional deep cleans (e.g., fridge, oven, baseboards)
-Maintain entryway, mudroom, garage, and rotating home zones
-Refresh humidifiers and air filters regularly
-Help with seasonal decorating and project organization
Administrative & Personal Assistant Support:
-Manage family calendar and travel logistics
-Assist with scheduling appointments or coordinating household events
Requirements:
-Non-smoker
-Reliable transportation (family car available for childcare transport; mileage reimbursement for errands)
-Clean driving record
-Ability to pass a background check
-Up to date vaccinations (including COVID and Flu)
-Tech-comfortable for calendar management and shopping apps
-Strong references
