The position then implements activities for the overall coordination of all assigned projects, and determines processes to best facilitate the completion of the project from inception to closure utilizing established methodologies, and within available resources. The project coordinator analyzes the effectiveness of the determined processes, and recommends new and innovative processes and methodologies, in order to optimize efficiencies.The project coordinator ensures that projects are executed and managed, and provides regular reports to the project manager on project(s) status, to include recommendations for change to processes or timelines to meet completion expectations.In addition, this position actively participates in the CMHHIP Quality Department’s change management efforts to improve patient care and satisfaction through assigned projects and quality initiatives.This position may be delegated tasks such as the administration of, updates to, and maintenance of, the CMHHIP Resource website and the internal Quality Department site to assure positive, ongoing user experience.Asa Project Coordinator

Formulates and manages project schedules, priorities, reports, progress and work plans

Identifies scheduling problems while adhering to departmentally focused objectives, processes and procedures, as well as ensures consistency in how projects are planned, managed and controlled throughout their life cycle

Participates in the development of curriculum to coach staff on standardization of project related work, and identifies, trains, and mentors staff utilizing process improvement methodologies

Follows up on process improvement plans of corrections initiated by department heads to assess progress and effectiveness

Determines the best way to communicate the recommended changes to foster relationships and optimize a team-focused approach to quality improvement.

Identifies usability problems likely to affect the user experience and makes recommendations to address

Tracks, compiles and documents the website traffic to determine the effectiveness of the site

Recommends site improvement required to enhance user experience.

Collaborates with Project Manager and IM teams to maintain and update training resources accessible for users who interact with the website(s)

Proactively responds to complaints and suggestions from users for issues or improvements to the site(s)

Working with the Project Manager, seeks opportunities to coach staff on standardization of related work, and identifies and mentors staff utilizing process improvement methodologies related to maintaining or creating department sites or Google Drive folders/documents linked to the CMHHIP Resource Site

Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal RightsMinimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Project Management education or training/certification

AND

Two (2) years of professional experience in project management or project coordination

OR

Six (6) years of professional experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position

Substitution:

Additional appropriate experience will substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Appropriate education will substitute for the work experience requirement on a year- for year- basis. (Must attach unofficial transcripts to the application, for education as a substitution to be credited)

Preferred Qualifications:

Professional experience in program or project coordination preferred.

Possess technical skills.

Conditions of Employment:

A pre-employment criminal background check will be conducted as part of the selection process as this position is deemed to have direct contact with vulnerable persons. Felony convictions, conviction of crimes of moral turpitude, or convictions of misdemeanors related to job duties may disqualify you from being considered for this position. Should your background check reveal any charges or convictions, it is your responsibility to provide the CDHS Background Unit with an official disposition of any charges. Additionally, you will be required take and pass a drug screen.

This position will be paid biweekly.

Successfully pass all modules of the CMHIP New

Employee Orientation core curriculum to include English reading comprehension,relevant competency assessments and written/practical exams

Must be able to see and hear in order to observe, address and respond to potential breaches in safety

Ability to read and comprehend the English language; effectively and fluently communicates in English, both verbally and in writing

Lift arms above head and kick as high as own waist

Stabilize another person to accomplish a controlled take down

Must be able to see and hear in order to observe, address and respond to potential breaches in safety

Seize, hold, control or subdue violent or assaultive persons and defend oneself or others to prevent injury

Demonstrate body agility, strength of all four limbs and the ability to walk and climb stairs consistently

Work in situations involving assaultive behavior, physical control of another person and/or restraint situations

2-step TB (tuberculosis) screening is required of all new employees upon hire.

Former State employees who were disciplinarily terminated or resigned in lieu of termination must disclose the information on the application and provide an explanation why the prior termination or resignation should not disqualify the applicant from the current position.
