The Food & Beverage department at The Charter oversees the kitchen, bar, and catering staff to ensure consistent delivery of all food and service. This role is responsible for all functions contributing to quality food and beverage operations for The Terrace and Charter Steakhouse, while working collaboratively with the Director of Catering and Wedding Sales. Duties include management supervision, fiscal performance, service standards, food presentation, and inventory control systems. Consistency and excellence in all services related to food, beverage, and hospitality are strong pillars of our brand. The Assistant Director of Food & Beverage sets the cultural tone for the entire foodservice operation, ensuring that guests' dining experiences are exceptional.

Responsibilities Include:

Team Development and Oversight: Coach, mentor, and develop staff, fostering teamwork and unity. Provide direction to employees and assist managers in understanding and exceeding team members' needs and expectations. Understand employee positions to perform duties in their absence.

Revenue and Profitability: Achieve revenue goals through effective promotion, product management, and pricing strategies. Prepare payroll and schedules, maintain budgets, and ensure standards and legal obligations are met. Oversee hiring and performance management, and handle disciplinary actions as necessary.

Operational Excellence: Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards. Oversee administrative tasks, including bookkeeping, training, equipment, food ordering, and maintenance. Manage front and back-of-house teams to provide stellar dining experiences. Maintain full menu costing and develop competitive analysis reports.

Training and Talent Development: Promote the development of F&B talent through training programs. Maintain a strong training program to support a culture of excellence. Ensure all employees are properly trained and staffing levels meet guest service and operational needs.

Collaboration and Communication: Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with other departments. Ensure clear communication of initiatives and quick resolution of issues. Interact daily with guests to promote the brand and gather feedback. Collaborate with the GM on marketing strategies and attend weekly meetings.

Start Date: ASAP

Employment Status: Full Time, Year Round

Pay Rate: $85,000-$95,000/year depending on experience

Minimum Requirements

7-9 years of experience in the foodservice industry in managerial and leadership roles, preferably within the resort/hospitality segment

Proficient in database, word processing, and POS software for all areas of hospitality marketing and management

Proficient in all areas of food and beverage preparation and service

Understand and utilize economic, financial, and industry data to accurately diagnose business strengths and weaknesses, identify key issues, and develop strategies and plans that will make the business more successful
