Join our talented team of professionals within the Office of Customer Experience and Engagement at Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority and make Metro the preferred way to commute.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Public or Business Administration, or a related field.Experience A minimum ten (10) years of Marketing or Advertising experience, to include at least five (5) years in a supervisory/managerial capacity, managing creative teams, campaigns, and large budgets successfully.Certification/Licensure N/APreferred Master’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Public or Business Administration, or a related fieldMEDICAL GROUPSatisfactorily complete the medical examination for this position, if required. The incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of this position either with or without reasonable accommodations.SUMMARYThe Director of Marketing leads a team of marketing and communications professionals within a fast-paced organization. The incumbent directs and manages multi-channel marketing campaigns and develops and deploys highly visible customer signage, overseeing both in-house and external agency creative. The incumbent demonstrates keen attention to detail and examines all concepts and branding for quality assurance. The Director of Marketing provides guidance on the implementation of creative concepts, the creation of content, and collaborates with designers, videographers, copywriters, digital and social media specialists. The Director ensures that the Office establishes and meets objectives that enhance the Authority's ability to increase ridership and revenue. The incumbent advocates for the management and protection of the Authority's branding strategy and ensures that Authority programs/projects support branding efforts and guidelines. The Director also manages the print operations for the agency, which includes heavy equipment and represented staff.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Plans, develops, implements, evaluates, and manages the Authority's marketing team andcreative services staff, including monitoring the production of campaigns from inception tocompletion, including OOH, print and digital media buys, including measurement ofprogram effectiveness.

Directs the contracted sale of advertising space within and on Authority assets. Manages and supervises the third-party advertising contract and online store contract. Oversees the Authority's merchandising efforts

Develops, implements, and maintains a branding strategy for the Authority's services. Ensures that Authority projects/programs support and comply with the branding strategy.

Establishes strategic external partnerships that promotes generate ridership and revenue as well as supports a positive image for the Authority.

Directs design and production of external information materials, including brochures, signage, newsletters, presentations, videos, and related multi-media and provides production services to other departments as required. Supervises the work of marketing consultants and marketing suppliers of the Authority.

Develops strategy for increasing non-farebox revenue through existing and new revenue initiatives. Identifies and initiates programs to take advantage of new market opportunities.

Motivates and inspires the professional development of employees to ensure that their skills remain competitive and best practices are consistently assessed to yield the best results for the organization.

Coordinates and develops marketing-related objectives with other offices in the Authority, local organizations, and other transit organizations.

Provides critical information in the formulation of Authority budgets, proposing and analyzing options, examining tradeoffs, and assessing the budgetary implications of alternative courses of action as they affect the marketing program.

Develops operating and capital budgets to enhance marketing efforts.
