IT Security System Administrator (0036)OCT Consulting, LLC is an SBA-certified, 8(a) small business management and technology consulting firm that provides support to Federal Government clients. We provide consulting services in the areas of Strategy, Process Improvement, Change Management, Program and Project Management, Acquisition/Procurement, and Information Technology.OCT is currently looking for an IT Security System Administrator . This position is contingent upon contract award.The ideal candidate will have experience deploying, managing, and operating scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems on AWS; knowledge of networking concepts (e.g., DNS, TCP/IP, and firewalls); working knowledge of a widerange of datacenter technologies including: Linux Administration, Local (LAN) and wide-area networks(WAN); Network protocols; and will be proficient in RHEL and AWS.Role:
Manage user accounts, credentials, permissions, access rights, storage allocations, and active
directory administration.
Document user account creation and termination
Document tasks performed and comply with the risk management framework regarding
documentation and security;
Builds, configures, and troubleshoots software enhancements, application deployments and up-
grades; Troubleshoot networks;
Maintain data files and monitor system configuration to ensure data integrity;
Report IT status to government and program managers;
Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem
resolution for client/server/storage/network devices;
Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Information
Technology (IT) systems.
Manage user access and permissions to all systems and data.
Perform daily security backups and restores.
Manage all monitoring and alerting throughout applications and infrastructure.
Monitor important network metrics (CPU, usage, DNS, latency, etc.) in order to quickly detect
incidents as they occur.RequirementsRequirements:
Two (2) years or more of experience with AWS support.
In - depth knowledge of cloud architecture.
Working knowledge of datacenter technologies.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
At least one of the following certifications: AWS, Cloud, Linux, or Microsoft certifications
