Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Legal Assistant in Washington, District of Columbia, United States. This role primarily revolves around the legal industry, where the successful candidate will be expected to perform various tasks including research, preparing legal agreements, and offering assistance in legal matters. For immediate consideration, apply today and contact Grace Nowlin at (202) 998-8423 for additional information.Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive research on various legal subjects to aid in case preparation and legal proceedings Prepare and draft legal agreements and other legal documentation as required Assist in the preparation and filing of legal documents such as briefs, appeals, and contracts Collaborate with lawyers to manage workload and ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner Maintain and organize legal files and documents to ensure they are updated and easily accessible Handle communication with clients, witnesses, and court officials Participate in legal meetings such as client interviews, hearings or trials and provide assistance as necessary Keep abreast of current legislation and legal provisions to ensure accuracy in tasks and advice given Use legal knowledge and research skills to identify legal issues and potential legal risks.Requirements Possess a strong knowledge of legal agreements and their applications Prior experience as a Legal Assistant or a similar role in the legal field Ability to conduct comprehensive legal research and compile data accurately Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking skills Proficiency in using legal research software and other computer applications relevant to the work Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.   • Summary The Congressional Budget Office provides economic, policy, and budget analysis to the Congress-is seeking assistant analysts to work in various divisions. This is an entry-level position limited to three years. The position is ideal for those seeking substantive work experience before pursuing postgraduate study in economics, public policy, law, or other analytical fields. People who have or are completing a master\'s degree are not eligible. Responsibilities Specific duties vary by division, but most assistant analysts provide research assistance, conduct statistical analyses and literature reviews, help maintain databases, and perform quality assurance reviews. TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with Excel and other Microsoft Office products. (Proficiency with at least one statistical software package or programming language-such as Python, Stata, R, EViews, or SAS-is required for some positions.)
