Threat understanding at its earliest point possible is critical to driving counter activities employed by DHS components and partners, and protecting the U.S. population and assets from naturally-occurring and man-made threats.If you are interested in this exciting opportunity to help develop and advance DHS’s new approach to countering WMD and other threats, we are actively seeking to identify personnel to join our team of talented professionals who possess the experience, vision, commitment and integrity to successfully support the strategic goals of DHS CWMD. Responsibilities include:

Technical editing and writing of biosurveillance products, standard operating procedures and other relevant documentation.

Briefing key CWMD staff and external stakeholders on tasks, projects, and other work activities.

Surveying stakeholders for requirements and user satisfaction with delivered outputs.

Training and mentoring new analysts and advancing the client's training program and repository of standard operating procedures.

Innovating around new processes and products to enhance early detection and improved analysis of biological threats globally.

Required Qualifications

Active Secret Clearance or ability to qualify for a Secret Clearance, if sponsored

Ability to obtain Department of Homeland Security suitability adjudication (i.e., security screening)

Excellent communication skills to include technical writing and editing, and oral presentations

Well organized, critical thinker, exceptional customer service skills for engaging with federal government clients

Ability to work tasks autonomously and follow through to completion

Ability to multi-task and respond to quick turn-around requests

Competence to function efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, demanding work environment

Ability to work on-site in Washington D.C., though there may be some opportunity to work remotely part-time.

Junior Management Analyst

Bachelor's degree

Or no degree and minimum of 4 years of experience

Compensation range: $56,000 to $87,500

Journeyman Management Analyst

Bachelor's degree or Master's Degree and minimum 3 years of experience

Or no degree and minimum of 7 years of experience

Compensation range: $61,600 - $96,250

Senior Management Analyst

Bachelor's degree and minimum of 11 years of experience

Or Master's degree and minimum of 10 years experience

Or no degree and minimum of 15 years of experience

Compensation: $81,900 - $154,825

Desired Qualifications

Active Secret clearance or Top Secret clearance

Previous professional work with federal, state or local governments entities.

Demonstrated knowledge of biofefense, public health, CWMD and/or CBRN areas of work.

Specialized management analysis experience in areas such as business process reengineering, configuration management, quality control/assurance, organizational performance assessments, mission analysis, and strategic planning
