Summary NIST works with industry and science to advance innovation and improve quality of life. We're looking for a Public Affairs Specialist to join our team! Responsibilities The Public Affairs Specialist initiates and maintains engagement with staff at national and local labor groups to facilitate communication about the CHIPS program. The incumbent identifies stakeholders, conducts outreach, and works with subject matter experts to provide program details and respond to inquiries. In collaboration with the public engagement team, the incumbent develops and implements engagement strategies to incorporate stakeholder feedback into program planning. Reporting to the Director of Public Engagement, the incumbent provides updates on program activities and stakeholder feedback. The incumbent conducts research to locate critical stakeholders and engages through meetings, events, and conferences to align CHIPS program implementation with labor and workforce group interests. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Applicants must possess at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 (ZA-II at NIST) level. Specialized experience is defined as: - Engaging with labor groups to facilitate communication about government programs, aiding in managing relationships and communications. - Contributing to the development of communication strategies for program initiatives - Coordinating stakeholder meetings, events, and conferences to align program implementation with stakeholder group interests Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done. We will credit all qualifying volunteer experience in your application.
