Linux Systems Engineer II – SHIFT POSITION - 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM Monday to Friday Alpharetta, GA
This position is a fast paced production support shift position which performs moderately difficult research, design, and systems engineering assignments and also responds to system management alerts to handle system/operations exceptions, within the assigned enterprise systems of product offerings. Additionally, this position is also responsible for triage change management support. QUALIFICATIONS: • 1-3 years of Systems Engineering experience • BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required
SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strong Linux scripting experience
Monitor production environment, tuning application servers to optimize performance and alerting
Problem determination, workaround identification, root cause analysis, incident management will be one of the day to day activities
Troubleshoot, both proactively and reactively, by looking into server outages and errors, working on and logging incident reports
Triage and resolve support tickets related to application functionality, performance and system availability
Quickly identify problems and escalate to the relevant parties within the organization
Experience in requirements identification, solution analysis, product knowledge and lead discussions to resolution
Strong hands on experience with scripting (bash, powershell,) and automation using Rundeck in VMware, OpenStack
Experience with Tomcat, Nagios, DataDog, Kibana, Graphana Control M, Git, Jira software
Familiar with cloud computing (Azure, AWS, Google, etc)
