Description We are on the lookout for a Corporate Tax Staff Accountant who will be part of our team. The primary role is to manage surplus line tax related responsibilities in the insurance industry. The position is based in Atlanta, Georgia, and offers a short term contract employment opportunity. Responsibilities: Handle surplus lines tax related tasks with each state, ensuring compliance and accuracy. Utilize accounting software systems to process customer credit applications and maintain records. Work with the team to ensure all surplus line taxes are up-to-date and any backlog is addressed. Perform surplus line tax reconciliation, ensuring documentation matches and is filed correctly with state websites. Leverage moderate excel skills - vlookups/pivot tables for efficient data management. Use Blackline, CCH Sales Tax, Concur, and other tools for financial services functions. Perform auditing tasks to ensure accuracy and compliance in all financial transactions. Manage accounts payable (AP) and perform accrual accounting duties. Balance sheet account management and other accounting functions as required. Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Requirements Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is a must. Experience with ADP - Financial Services is required. Familiarity with BlackLine software is expected. Proficiency in using CCH Sales Tax software is necessary. Proficiency in Concur is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of various Accounting Functions is needed. Extensive experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) is a must. Understanding of Accrual Accounting is necessary. Previous experience in Auditing is a plus. Ability to manage Balance Sheet Accounts effectively is required.
