Description We are in the search for a skilled Staff Accountant to be a part of our team in the steel manufacturing industry, located in Dublin, Georgia. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity. As a Staff Accountant, your main responsibilities will involve handling a variety of accounting tasks, such as processing transactions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles. Responsibilities Oversee the day-to-day transactions and manage journal entries Assist in the development of financial statements including cash flow statements, balance sheets, and income statements Work closely with the accounting team to optimize financial tasks and enhance efficiency Adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies Execute monthly reconciliations and aid in the month-end closing process Provide support with audit preparations and tax filings Regularly conduct bank and ledger reconciliation Scrutinize financial data to spot discrepancies or inconsistencies Oversee and track fixed assets and keep up the asset register Contribute to the budgeting and forecasting process Handle sensitive information confidentially and responsibly. Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required Proven experience as a Staff Accountant in the Steel Manufacturing industry Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management Demonstrated ability to perform Bank Reconciliations Solid understanding of General Ledger management Proficiency in creating and managing Journal Entries Experience with Month End Close procedures Knowledge and experience with NetSuite and Oracle software Proficiency in QuickBooks Familiarity with SAP software Understanding of Debits and their application in accounting Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Able to meet tight deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
