The Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) Leader will provide leadership, direction, and execution of all plant FSQA functions at the Chick-fil-A Production Distribution Center located in Atlanta, GA, as well as ensure regulatory compliance, brand compliance and culture. Key to this role is ensuring regulatory compliance (USDA, FDA and/or State regulations) and serving as plant authority on all FSQA matters. Significant collaboration is required across all plant functions and with Chick-fil-A, Inc. (CFA) Support Center colleagues and Restaurant Operators to achieve organizational goals: safe quality food, meeting specifications, and exceeding customer expectations.A wholly owned subsidiary of Chick-fil-A, Inc., Chick-fil-A Supply is a distribution service network focused entirely on serving the unique needs and growing volume of Chick-fil-A restaurants. The Chick-fil-A Supply distribution service network is comprised of three components: · Distribution Center – State-of-the-art warehouses that house supply for Chick-fil-A restaurants· Production Distribution Center – Offsite facilities that prepare select ingredients and menu items for Chick-fil-A restaurants· Transportation – Growing fleet of delivery vehicles that supply Chick-fil-A restaurants· Oversee development, implementation, maintenance and monitoring of all FSQA programs, in sync with CFA , Inc. and CFA Supply management o Drive evaluation of hazard assessment and risk management - identify, quantify, and offer solutions to quality risks and food safety hazards from building infrastructure through operationso Enforce the FSQA standards such as HACCP, GMPSs SSOPs, and other programs o Establish mechanisms to track and promote FSQA compliance, risk management, and contingency planning for relevant areas including program maintenance, training, and auditingo Provide feedback to Restaurant Operator concerns by working with plant operations to exceed customer expectationso Suspend production or the release of product, as appropriate, when food safety and/or quality standards are not achievedo Serve as leader on project teamso Lead all food safety and regulatory efforts at the plant and develops a working relationship with USDA staffo Conduct internal inspections, perform audits and GFSI readiness· Manage relationships across industry, academia, government, CFA and restaurants o Meet with vendors, other suppliers and distributors, FSQA representatives and CFA colleagues to discuss and resolve food safety and quality issueso Interpret and disseminate information on regulatory matters and emerging industry standards to influence continuous improvemento Keep abreast of latest food safety, quality and manufacturing technologies, systems, and practices· Build, lead and direct team responsible for all quality and food safety programs within planto Mentor and motivate QA team, providing training to optimize their performance and growtho Communicate performance standards to QA team, recognizing and rewarding individual and team accomplishments and counseling performance problems· Present and discuss FSQA performance and needs with management and CFA Management, as needed and through participation in regular meetings· Perform related responsibilities, as needed, to support CFA Supply’s business objectives· Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Food Science, Poultry Science, Meat Science or Food Engineering, postgraduate degree preferred · 5 years of experience in food manufacturing and involving both facility FSQA management and corporate management. · Experience in HACCP supervisory role· Demonstrated experience with USDA regulatory authority · GFSI certification experience· Strong business acumen (strategy, budget, key performance indicator metrics, etc.) · Ability to work in a technical area (be detail orientated), as well as with customers and in supplier environments· Ability to process a wide variety of information (with or without data), and have comfort level in making key business decisions· Demonstration of leadership skills and ability to influence change· Ability to collaborate and work well with teams, while also demonstrating comfort working with minimal direction from supervisor· Strong knowledge of innovations in supply chain, risk management, contingency planning, and contingency execution · Demonstrated knowledge and application of statistical process control, quality assurance techniques and tools and quality management principles in a food manufacturing environment· Experience running an onsite lab for basic microbiology, chemistry and quality testsMasters in Related Field510%Bachelor's DegreeMasters DegreeRelated FieldID: 2019-7320 External Company URL: www.chick-fil-a.com Street: 5200 Buffington Rd.
