Reports to - Senior Sourcing Manager, Writing Division

DescriptionThe Associate Manager NPD will support the sourcing category team to independently represent procurement as a cross-functional member of New Product Development teams. They will be responsible for execution of their own project tasks, take initiative to solve problems, and focus to deliver projects on time, on cost, and on spec to the market. The Associate Manager will take the lead on NPD activity within a given product category or categories. They will collaboratively work with the extended sourcing organization to ensure category objectives are met.Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Own and manage sourcing deliverables for New Product Development projects in assigned category.

Coordinate sourcing activities with delivery and category sourcing teams to ensure proper working alignment and leveraging commercial opportunities with suppliers.

Responsible for the supplier identification, quoting process, negotiations and supplier selection on NPD projects, with a focus on meeting the customer and business needs.

Routinely works with global cross-functional project teams: Marketing, Engineering, Supplier Quality, Supply Chain and Program Management to ensure that NPD project are launched on-time, on-cost and on-specification.

Identify, resolve, and/or escalates project risks with a sense of urgency to ensure project requirements are met.

Effectively communicate project updates, recommendations and Sourcing strategies on a frequent basis to NPD teams and Senior Leadership.

Support strategic contract negotiations as required.

Vendor and part data management within SAP

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree

3-5 years of experience in sourcing, supply chain, operations, or related business fields

Ability manage multiple projects to completion

Proven problem-solving skills.

Ability to prioritize and self-direct work

Effective oral and written communication skills

Excellent analytical and project leadership skills

Negotiation experience and strong communication skills externally with suppliers

Effective time management skills for handling multiple demands in a fast-changing environment.

Excel, Word and PowerPoint experience is required

Experience sourcing from a global supply base (preferred)

Previous experience with consumer products company (preferred)

SAP experience (preferred)
