POSITION: Human Resources Coordinator

HOURS: 40 hours a week, Monday – Friday

PAY RATE: $28.00 an hour

POSITION DESCRIPTION

This position is responsible for providing executive support to the Chief Executive Officer related to human resources. Manage and assist with overall personnel and administrative services to include development and implementation of policies and practices that comply with all applicable laws and regulations and are consistent with Boys and Girls Clubs of Maui’s mission.

KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):

1. Work with leadership and management staff to meet the organization’s objectives for human resources.

2. In collaboration with the chief executive officer and board of directors, establish and implement policies and procedures for the effective management of personnel services and compliance as well as Boys & Girls Clubs’ mission and values.

3. Provide information to staff and leadership to support management decision-making about policy issues, best hiring and recruitment practices, employee relations and retention, staff development needs, and compensation and benefits.

4. Oversee and manage personnel and human services duties to include but not limited to employee onboarding and separation, salary administration, and benefit coordination.

5. Disseminate necessary information to staff.

6. Maintain and manage service contracts for the organization and contact service representatives as needed.

7. Ensure electronic and hard copy filing systems are accurate and facilitate easy retrieval of information.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

- College degree or equivalent work experience.

- Three years or more in administrative work and human resources field required

- Non-profit experience or in a growth-mode organization preferred

- Able to absorb new information rapidly, plan, and manage time proficiently

- Highly organized and strong project management

- Must demonstrate good judgement and problem-solving skills

- Work harmoniously with people at all levels of the organization and the public

- Scrupulous attention to detail with a high degree of confidentiality

- Strong computer skills with a general knowledge of MS Office products

- Ability to use common office equipment

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Valid driver’s license and maintain an acceptable driving record
